Drifting With Life
In my last blog I talked about what I’ve learned this quarter in one of my classes. But in the past year I’ve learned so much more. They say your never too old to learn! Never in a million years would I have thought I would be back in school at middle age.
After watching the drifting snow as I was driving for about an hour one day, I finally had to stop and take a photo. I wanted to show the beauty I saw, the mystery, but hard to do in a still image. As I watched and thought about life I related to the snow being blown in random directions, pushed forward in unknown areas. A force directing your path and not able to stop it.
Due to certains situations I only had the option to go back to school, with that said I chose photography because I have always loved creating images that may connect with someone, to have a memory of life. Like the snow I am blown in directions that take me to areas I’m unfamiliar with and struggle. Kind of like trying to walk through the snow drift made by the wind.
One thing, I am not a quitter and I will will continue to struggle through the snow drifts. In the end maybe everything will make sense and the wind will have blown me where I need to be.
