The beginning, photography, words, select hand sewn aprons.
Hi I’m Kathy, I just want to welcome everyone to my blog. This is something new for me, so I would like to tell you a little about who I am and what I will soon be able to offer.
I have three passions, which I have had since I was young. They are poetry, photography, and hand sewn items. I have loved taking photos for as long as I can remember. And am now in photography classes at SFCC.
My poetry has always been something that appeared in my mind. I’ve never worked hard at creating this. I see an image or a person, an emotion and words start forming. I hope my words convey a vision or relate to an emotion that you might have.
My sewing I learned from my mother. I needed an outlet for creating, a project to work on always. About nine years ago I started a crafting business. Went to craft shows, fairs, etc. I progressed from simple and basic aprons to a more creative and fun items. I loved the process of choosing fabrics and how they connected. And how my customers viewed my products as apposed to my competition.
I have a very vivid imagination and curiosity. Since starting college last spring I have been curious what was down the hill from our photography building. Curiosity got the better of me and with the hill covered in trees I had to investigate. What I found as I started down was a set of stone steps. They just seem to invite you down, of course I went! They lead down to the centennial trail. There were no other people there at this time, I’m not sure how busy it gets. For me it was a short period of time to walk in the woods and refresh. Spending time alone in nature where I can relax, reflect and just enjoy the outdoors energizes me and gives me a renewed insight for my creative adventures!
